Malaysia

The shadow theater in Malaysia is closely linked to that of its neighbors Thailand and Indonesia, both in their arguments and in his technique. However, there are small differences that characterize it.
One is that the puppets are always represented with his feet on a kind of mythological serpent called Naga.

Two kinds of Malay Wayang Kulit are found in the northern part of Malaysia :
Wayang Siam and Wayang Jawa.

The northern state of Kelantan is the mail place of this performing art, under the influence of the Thai Nang Talung in the north and the Indonesian Wayang Kulit.
The language of the Wayang Siam is the Kelantan-Patani dialect of Malay, but the idiom of the performance differs from that of daily speech.
